Residential Future

The Town of Kwinana residents - both current and future, can look forward to a bright future ahead. Kwinana has a number of exciting residential opportunities outlined below.

Diverse housing opportunities
Kwinana is known for its diverse residential opportunities, and these will be expanded as the state's leading developers provide a wide range of quality residential options over the next 15 years.

Our town already boasts an offering of rural lifestyle blocks, special stables zones and large family blocks; and this will shortly be supplemented by further housing options.

As the needs of current and future residents continue to change, we will remain committed to providing a wide range of housing options - in terms of housing style, housing size and price range.

New medium density housing for Kwinana
Council has recently given approval for a medium density housing development within the town centre, which will further enhance our diversity in residential offerings. The Town of Kwinana is currently working with one of Perth's foremost property developers - with an announcement planned shortly. This development will provide a wonderful opportunity for people to move right into the very centre of the Town as it continues to grow.

Current major residential developments
Two high quality developments currently underway in Kwinana provide examples of the residential vision for our community. These are:

Future residential developments
It is anticipated that Kwinana will expand by around 1,000 new residential lots per year over the next 15 years. The key future planned residential developments are ERIC (Eastern Residential Intensification Concept) and E26.

  • ERIC (The Eastern Residential Intensification Concept)

    This development is the most sizeable planned residential development concept for the Town of Kwinana. The majority of the Kwinana's future new residential lots will be within the ERIC area.

    The area defined by ERIC (expected from Anketell in the north of the Town's boundary, through to Wellard in the south) will, over the long-term, be home to the majority of Kwinana's new residential population.

    The planning concept is a result of the Kwinana Freeway extension and the opening of the Perth to Mandurah rail line. This new area will likely incorporate ready ease of access to both the Freeway and the rail line, and will be an area of substantial growth and activity in future years.

  • E26

    The largest residential precinct in the town centre is lot E26, south of Challenger Road.

    This is a long-term residential project, being developed in joint collaboration between the landowner - the Department of Housing & Works, and the appointed developers - Satterley Property Group.

    This project will incorporate all the very best of modern urban design in residential development and is anticipated to provide a wide range of different housing products to suit almost all buyers.

    Initial concept plans for the new area will likely be released for public comment around mid-2007.
